Welcome to Dream Chasing in the Mouse House!! â™¥ï¸ðŸðŸ

Hello, fellow Disney fans, and welcome to Dream Chasing in the Mouse House! This blog has been in the works for months, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our adventures, as well as our trip planning tips and tricks with you all!

First of all, what is Dream Chasing in the Mouse House? For many people around the world, when they think of Orlando, they immediately think of Walt Disney World and Mickey Mouse.

In so many ways, the Orlando area has become what it is today as a direct result of our local theme parks, and specifically Walt Disney World. It only seems fitting that we refer to this amazing place that we’re fortunate to call home as, “The Mouse House”.

As two Orlando area locals who moved here from other states, we both know how fortunate we are to get to live in a place where the rest of the world vacations. Living so close to Walt Disney World and having Disney as such an important part of our everyday lives truly is a dream come true for us, as it would be for many others. We are chasing our dreams and loving life as we explore and create new memories in the Mouse House.

The Orlando area, and central Florida, as a whole, has so many great things to offer, both to those of us who are fortunate to live here, and to everyone who visits on their vacations. As many great things as there are to do here, our blog will be primarily focused on Walt Disney World.

This blog will be focused on our experiences and our best tips to help you plan your next Walt Disney World trip. Since we live so close to WDW and are able to visit the parks on a regular basis, we are able to provide “expert” tips and give advice from the perspective of locals.

Although we will take you along on our adventures and give our opinions and personal preferences on certain topics, this blog is intended to provide information to our readers, and will not be focused on ourselves. We hope to provide useful tips without trying to persuade anyone to agree with our personal opinions or preferences.

We should also add that this blog is not in any way associated with the Walt Disney Company. The tips provided and opinions expressed are our own. Our pictures are also our own.

We plan to publish weekly blog posts along with daily social media posts, so please follow us and check back often for fun, new content!

Now, before we get started, we would like to introduce ourselves to you, tell the story of how we met, and also tell the story of how this blog came to be.

Halie was born in Michigan. Her first visit to WDW with her family was at the age of three. She lived in Michigan until the age of 10 when her family moved to Florida. Disney increasingly became a bigger part of Halie’s life as she grew up. She eventually worked as a Disney tour guide for a few years. Her experience and knowledge of the parks gained during this time provided her with the tools necessary to become an expert in planning trips to the Walt Disney World parks. She is able to offer a unique perspective and priceless tips for getting the most out of your next Disney vacation.

Danny was born in North Dakota. While he has been a lifelong Disney fan, his first visit to WDW didn’t take place until the age of 23. Although it was just a quick weekend trip, it was a much needed vacation for Danny and his family after a year in which they endured three devastating losses in their family within nine months. At the end of that weekend trip, Danny promised himself that one day he would live in Orlando and would make Disney a part of his everyday life. At the age of 30, he fulfilled that promise and moved to Florida. Since moving to Orlando, Danny has spent most of his free time in the WDW parks, and has now visited Magic Kingdom 250 times. Danny was born with Spina Bifida and relies on a wheelchair for mobility, which provides him with a unique perspective of the parks, as well.

In March 2018, we met for the first time after a very unlikely chain of events took place, which led to us sitting next to each other while playing trivia at a restaurant just minutes from Magic Kingdom. We both strongly believe that everything happens for a reason, and the events that led to us meeting that first time prove that belief to be true for us.

After meeting for the first time, more than two months passed by before we met again and started playing trivia together on a regular basis. We became close friends very quickly and realized almost immediately how much we have in common.

Over the past year, we have formed a friendship that is very special and means the world to both of us. We have shared countless amazing memories that will stick with us for the rest of our lives.

Halie had been wanting for a long time to start a Disney-related Instagram, but hadn’t started it yet. Danny was encouraged for years by family and friends back in North Dakota to start a Disney blog, but was reluctant to start it. In March 2019, Halie asked Danny to partner with her and create a Disney blog to go along with a Disney-related Instagram. After months of brainstorming and preparing, Dream Chasing in the Mouse House was born.

We sincerely hope you enjoy our blog, and we can’t wait to take you along on our journey of Dream Chasing in the Mouse House! Be sure to follow us on social media, as well.
