What We’re Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving, Dream Chasers!! We sincerely hope that all of you who are celebrating Thanksgiving today are enjoying a wonderful day with loved ones, and have a chance to reflect on all of the things you are thankful for this year.

This is a bit different from our usual blog posts, but we wanted to take this opportunity to share what we are thankful for this Thanksgiving Day.

Looking back, this past year has been absolutely incredible in so many ways. This has been an amazing year of growth and positive changes for both of us. We are thankful for the many great people in our lives who support and encourage us. We are truly blessed. We are also thankful for our friendship and for the countless incredible memories we have shared together.

A year ago at this time, the thought of us starting a blog together wasn’t something that we had even thought about. Since I first moved to Florida and started visiting WDW on a regular basis, I always thought it would be fun to start a Disney blog, but I knew I would never do it by myself. Halie had been wanting to start a Disney-focused Instagram account for a long time, but was waiting for the right time and situation to start it.

Back in March, Halie casually approached me about an idea she had for us to collaborate on a Disney blog. It was the opportunity we had both been waiting for, and, after months of planning and preparation, Dream Chasing in the Mouse House was born. It’s always exciting to start something new that you have been looking forward to, and it’s even better when you are able to create it with one of your best friends.

Since we launched Dream Chasing in the Mouse House in June, we have absolutely loved getting to share our passion for Disney with so many fellow Disney fans around the world. We both have regular jobs and a lot of things going on in our lives, so our blog and all of our social media posts are something that we get to do in our spare time.

We have been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from everyone who is following us on this journey. We’ve met a lot of wonderful people, and have made some great friends through our blog and social media. We are thankful for every single one of you and could never thank you enough for your support and kind words.

We are thankful for Disney. Disney has become such a huge part of our lives. Neither of us are originally from Florida. We both moved here from other states, and we have only known each other for less than two years, but our shared love for Disney has played a major role in our friendship. We owe so many things in our lives to Disney, both because of its impact on us and because of its impact on the world, as a whole.

In a world that has become far too serious and sad, Disney provides people of all ages and from places around the world with an opportunity to escape from reality for a while and just be happy. You can leave your cares, worries, and stress behind and just enjoy the magic. You can just live in the moment and be happy for a while.

As locals, we are very fortunate to be able to visit WDW any time we want. It isn’t a vacation for us, it is a part of our everyday lives. Since we started Dream Chasing in the Mouse House, we tend to view Disney differently than we did in the past, as you would expect, but we wouldn’t be doing this blog if we didn’t love it. We have infinite new adventures ahead of us and just as many new memories left to create. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you all so much for allowing us to continue to do this and for enjoying what we do. It is our pleasure to try every day to bring a little bit of Disney magic to the lives of others, and we look forward to continuing to do so in the future for as long as we are able. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to share the exciting things we have planned moving forward!!
